Depression and low mood is a mental health issue which affects us all at some point and to some degree within our life. Depression can be brought on by life events or by a change in a person’s body chemistry. The symptoms of depression does vary person to person and can develop quite quickly or gradually take over. Some of the symptoms can include, disturbed sleep and low levels of energy, poor concentration levels, feelings of guilt, shame or low self esteem, loss of interest and pleasure in doing things as well as loss of appetite or overeating.
"Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around."
- Leo Buscaglia
Morgan Walker Counselling wishes to offer men & women of all ages a counselling group to support you with your depression or low mood. You will be able to explore with others your thoughts and feelings around your depression and your experience of life with depression. The group will offer support to each other and you won’t feel like the only one who is experiencing this “dark place” alone. Together, we will shine a light to help you work with these difficult feelings and look at ways to better manage low mood and any other symptoms you are experiencing.
The counselling group will be confidential, with an initial assessment being completed with all new group members. It will take place every fortnight, on a Monday morning for two hours, with a maximum of six members and myself as your group counsellor.
Duration: 2 hours
